Ten kinds of home care
Most families start with one and add another later. If you are not sure which fits, say what is happening at home and we will tell you.
Placer County's largest city, and one of the few places in our area with two acute-care hospitals inside the city limits. It is also home to 3,110 age-restricted houses in one development.
Roseville is the easiest city in our service area to arrange care in, and the reason is infrastructure. Sutter Roseville is a Level II trauma center with an ICU; Kaiser Roseville is on Eureka Road. A family here does not have to drive to Sacramento for an admission, which means the handoff from hospital to home happens across town rather than across the county.
Sun City Roseville is the other defining fact. It is a 55-plus community of 3,110 homes off Del Webb Boulevard in the 95747 ZIP, self-governed since Del Webb handed the association over in 1997, and the West Roseville Specific Plan has roughly 704 more age-restricted units planned. A development like that concentrates a very specific kind of client: people who moved somewhere purpose-built to stay independent, and who want help arriving without the whole street knowing. Discretion matters more here than anywhere else we work, and it is worth saying on the first call if it matters to you.
The rest of Roseville is a different job again. Old Town and the Vernon Street district are the original town, with the housing stock that goes with it. West Roseville, out past Fiddyment Road, is a 3,162-acre plan area that has been filling in since 2004, so a client there is more likely to be in a house built this century with a level entry and a walk-in shower already. The two ends of the city need genuinely different care plans, and that is most of why we will not quote anything before we have seen which one you are in.
Both are physically in Roseville. There is no Dignity Health hospital here; the nearest is Mercy San Juan in Carmichael. Most first calls come the day after a discharge, so call while it is still being planned rather than after everyone is home.

Read moreThere is a published median rate for this whole metro area, and it is the honest starting point for a conversation about money. Our guide to what home care costs across the Sacramento region gives that figure, explains the assumption buried in the monthly version of it, and runs the arithmetic at the amounts of care families actually buy.
If the question is who pays rather than how much, how families pay for home care in Placer County covers what Medicare will and will not cover, how Medi-Cal's IHSS program works, and what VA Aid and Attendance is worth.

Free, and no obligation. We look at the routine and the layout, then put a plan and a clear cost in writing before anything begins.
Matched on skills and on temperament, and introduced before care starts. A second familiar face is kept ready for vacation and sick days.
If yours is not here, ask it on the phone: (916) 229-8120.
Yes. Sun City Roseville is 3,110 age-restricted homes and it is one of the places families ask about most. Call Guiding Souls Home Care at (916) 229-8120 and we will talk through what the schedule would look like.
No. It is about 16 miles, and more to the point our caregivers live across the region rather than all near the office. A match accounts for the drive, because a caregiver who lives nearby is a caregiver who arrives on time.
Yes, and that is a common way care starts here. Call while the discharge is being planned. What we can staff depends on the hours and the match, and a day of notice makes a real difference.
