Guiding Souls Home Care is a California corporation, formed in 2022, working out of one office on Fair Oaks Boulevard. The person who owns it answers to the families she works for and to nobody else.

What we are, in plain terms
Guiding Souls Home Care, Inc. is a non-medical home care agency in Sacramento. That means help with daily life at home: bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, company, errands, transport and supervision. It is the care that decides whether someone can stay in their own house rather than move out of it.
We are small on purpose. There is no call center, no regional manager and no script. When you call, you reach somebody who knows the caregivers by name, and when something goes wrong at eleven at night you are not filing a ticket.

Mereani Blanton
Founder and Chief Executive
Mereani founded Guiding Souls in 2022 and still runs it. She does the first visit herself on most new cases, which is why the plan and the price come from the person who is accountable for both.
Marica Smith
Assistant Administrator
Marica is the Assistant Administrator. When you call the office in the daytime, she is often who answers.

We visit the house
Free, and no obligation. We look at the routine and the layout, then put a plan and a clear cost in writing before anything begins.
You meet your caregiver
Matched on skills and on temperament, and introduced before care starts. A second familiar face is kept ready for vacation and sick days.

Being clear about this saves everybody a wasted afternoon, so we put it on the About page rather than in a footnote.
Where this stops
Guiding Souls is not a nursing agency. We do not provide clinical care, wound dressing, injections or therapy, and a caregiver reminds someone to take medication rather than giving it to them. We are not benefits advisers either, though our guide to how families pay for home care sets out what the programs actually cover. If you need something we do not do, we will say so and tell you who does.

Who owns Guiding Souls Home Care?
Mereani Blanton, who is the founder and chief executive. Guiding Souls Home Care, Inc. is a California corporation formed in 2022 and it is family owned. It is not a franchise, so there is no head office setting the rates or the rules, and the person who owns the business is the person you will end up speaking to.
Is Guiding Souls a medical provider?
No. Guiding Souls provides non-medical home care: help with daily life at home, including bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, company, errands, transport and supervision. It does not provide clinical care of any kind, and a caregiver reminds someone to take medication rather than giving it to them. If your family needs clinical care at home, we will tell you on the phone and point you toward the right provider.

Guiding Souls trains its caregivers through the Guiding Souls Training Academy, and hires for character first.
