Non-medical home care is help with daily life at home: bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, company, errands, transport and supervision. It is the care that decides whether someone can stay in their own house rather than move out of it.
Guiding Souls is not a nursing agency. We do not provide skilled nursing, wound care, injections or therapy, and a caregiver reminds someone to take medication rather than giving it to them. Home health care is clinical and is delivered by nurses and therapists, usually on a doctor's order. Guiding Souls provides the first and not the second, and will tell you who to call if you need the second.
Yes, and they usually are. A two-hour personal care visit normally includes a meal, a load of laundry and time to talk, because a caregiver already in the house can do all of it inside the same two hours. Buying each piece separately generally costs a family more.
